Content and aim of professional practice

The internship (2 weeks - 80 hours) is intended for radiology assistants enrolled in specialty training who wish to become proficient in mammary diagnostic imaging.

Target

1) By completing an accredited certified course (according to module OM 2e), the graduate obtains special competence in mammary diagnostic imaging. In addition to the oral examination, the successful completion of the course requires proof of completion of the professional practice according to module OM 3e.
2) deepening the theoretical knowledge acquired in the Certified Course in Mammographic Imaging

The content of the practice

1) practical practice of techniques used for breast imaging - correct positioning of basic mammographic projections, practical use of non-standard projections, techniques for imaging small and large breasts, immobile patients, men, etc. Imaging techniques in women after breast surgery, with implants, reconstructive procedures.
2) demonstration and practice of eliminating the most common errors in imaging
3) practical implementation of the use of manual and automatic capture modes, standardization of projections, compression and other input parameters
4) practical training of assisting in the whole spectrum of interventional procedures used in mammodiagnostics - core cut biopsy, vacuum biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, puncture, ductography, marking of lesions before surgical procedure.
5) familiarization with the organization of the screening mammography workplace
(6) Practical performance of operational stability tests and practice of troubleshooting failing tests
